The Future of Luxury

Introducing the new Sustainability Working Groups

While Covid-19 may have dominated the agenda for the past six months, our British Luxury Sustainability Manifesto - which we launched at the beginning of 2020 - has not been forgotten. During the pandemic, sustainability has taken on a new imperative as Walpole members commit to a future vision of building back better. With the spotlight on how globally integrated the business of luxury is, from supply-chain to customer, protecting people and planet has become more important than ever.

The Future of Luxury Introducing the new Sustainability Working Groups

In response, this week we launch our Sustainability Working Groups: online forums bringing together small groups of members - current Signatories of the Manifesto - from each of our sector categories to network and share best practice around our four pillars of sustainability:

1. Lead the transition towards a circular economy

2. Safeguard the environment and natural resources

3. Guide partners + suppliers towards sustainable practices

4. Advocate equal and respectful working conditions

These Working Groups will also help inform and shape our Sustainability work as it progresses. To learn more about the luxury sector's commitment to sustainability, and to join one of the Working Groups, please contact Stephanie Robinson and Charlotte Keesing on [email protected] and [email protected].
