François Lavenir and Fiona Sutcliffe combined forces to set up the award-winning Sterling Studios in 2003, building on their previous successes in antique restoration, design and painting. Technical curiosity, together with familiarity and love of classical design underpin the work crafted in their West London studio.
Specialists in decorative arts, Sterling Studios produce an ever-expanding and extensive collection of exquisite bespoke finishes. Eglomise, antiqued, gilt, carved and cast glass panels, alongside lacquers, scagliola, crackled gesso and embossed leathers as well as a variety of resin, metal and painted finishes are commissioned worldwide by designers for both contemporary and classical settings.
Past projects include Claridge’s, Waldorf Astoria, The Ritz, 5 Hertford Street, Oswald’s Club, Loulou’s, Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, Tiffany’s, Graff Diamonds, Harrods, and Selfridges, as well as high end residential ones.
